The Coronavirus scare has just cancelled another car event: the Ford Everest Sport launch.
And just like everyone else, Ford Philippines has postponed the launch of Ford Everest Sport which was scheduled to be unveiled today.
There isn’t much that Ford has let slip about the new Everest Sport, but it is placed right below the Titanium+ variant in Thailand, so we expect it to be the same here in the Philippines.
In Thailand, the Sport model is only offered as a 4x2 and shares the same 2.0 liter turbodiesel engine as the mid-range Titanium units. The engine is capable of putting out 178 hp and 420 Nm of torque, paired up with a 10-speed auto.
In some markets, the Sport variant is offered as a vehicle package, equipping the Everest with 20 inch blacked out alloy wheels, bi-beam LED headlights, a blacked out front grille, and Sport accented interior seats, finished with blue stitching.
Ford hasn’t set a price yet for the Everest Sport variant, but expect it to be priced a little lower than the top of the line Titanium+ model, which starts at P2.3 million.
We got word that Ford Philippines is still eyeing to officially launch it, but they are still waiting for the situation in the country to normalize following the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
