Ford announced that its United States (US) customers will get their F-150 Lightning XLT units sooner due to the increased production of the brand’s all-electric pickup truck.
Despite the increased demand for the Ford F-150 Lightning XLT in the US, the Blue Oval brand believes that new retail orders made today can be sent out as early as September 2023. Thanks to increased production at the American carmaker’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, those who placed their orders might get their rides after three months.
“Customer interest for XLT has considerably outstripped supply since the F-150 Lightning launch and we’ve worked with our suppliers to help address that. We heard loud and clear from our customers that they want their truck deliveries as close as possible to their orders. As we scale production, we are making this possible,” Ford Model e Chief Customer Officer Marin Gjaja stated.
The production increase for the F-150 Lightning is part of Ford’s plan to scale electric vehicles and make them more accessible to customers.
In the US, the Ford F-150 Lightning XLT is priced at $64,474 (approximately P3.606 million). Ford did not announce if the increase in the production of the F-150 Lightning XLT will have the same effect as the aforementioned Mach-E in terms of the pickup truck’s sticker price.
And while we’re on the topic of pickup trucks, Ford’s local arm has just launched the Ranger Raptor and turned over the first batch of the well-appointed pickup trucks to their happy owners.
