As if their 13-variant strong lineup was not enough, the local distributor of the Blue Oval in the country unveiled their latest offering of the Ranger family with the introduction of the FX4 Max variety.
The introduction of the Ford Ranger FX4 Max came at the heels of the recent introduction of the revamped Ranger line.
Ford Philippines President and Managing Director PK Umashankar said that the Ford Ranger FX4 Max is set to deliver off-road driving capabilities inspired by the Ranger Raptor while living up to the Ranger’s brand of comfort, safety, and versatility.
“The Ranger FX4 Max is definitely a strong addition to our growing Ranger portfolio and further boosts the off-road capabilities of our trucks,” Umashankar said.
“It is the perfect pickup for customers who seek adventures as it is equipped with features that offer confidence and convenience in taking on the roads less traveled.”
Powering the Ranger FX4 MAX is the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine that can generate more than 210 horsepower and 500Nm torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission—same with the Ranger Raptor and Wildtrak 4x4.
The said powertrain empowers the FX4 Max to carry a maximum of 981-kilogram payload and a 3,500-kg towing capability.
The Ranger FX4 Max wears two-inch monotube FOX shock absorbers in both front and rear and a remote reservoir and leaf springs ensure speedy recovery from extensive and prolonged off-road use. Aside from that, the front suspension also has tuned coil-springs.
The latest pick-up offering sits on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires.
Seen on the exterior of the Ranger FX4 Max are the iconic grille with bold F-O-R-D embossed into it, and a full-length tubular sports bar finished in matte black, body-mounted side steps with non-slip finish.
On the inside, the Ford FX4 Max has leather seats, including carbon-accents with Miko suede inserts and FX4 Max embroidery. It also has been fitted with all-weather front and rear floor mats, sports pedals for the driver as well as leather-wrap steering wheel.
Further, the Ford Ranger FX4 Max is equipped with auxiliary switch pack—only made available for this variant. Seen on Ford trucks globally—including the legendary F-Series—this auxiliary switch gives ready toggle switches ready for any equipment addition to the FX4. To complement such, it also comes with a specific 250A alternator to support power supply to multiple accessories and reduce reliance on the vehicle’s battery.
The Ranger FX4 Max has a plethora of technological advancements to up the driving experience such as the eight-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, Smart Keyless Entry with Push Button Start, SYNC 3 with Voice-Activated controls, Bluetooth with Phone/Audio streaming, two USB ports, and six speakers.
For safety, it is armed with Cruise Control, ABS + EBD, Electronic Stability Control Including Roll-over Mitigation and Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist, Hill Descent Control, driver and passenger airbags, Rear Parking Sensors, and Child Seat ISOFIX Anchorage Points.
The Ranger FX4 Max is available in in six hues such as Arctic White, Absolute Black, Aluminum Metallic, Meteor Grey, Blue Lightning and True Red, and is priced at P1.698 million.
