Ford gives entry level Ranger a new package option

Serious pickup truck owners are known for customizing their trucks to no end. Adjusting the truck height, placing tow straps, equipping a custom grille—these are just some of the most common customization options opted for.

With about 75 percent of Ford Ranger customers adding appearance packages to their brand new trucks, the Blue Oval company is giving buyers of the entry-level Ranger pickup a new option with the available STX Special Edition Package, adding more style and technology to 2021 Ranger XL models.

“Ranger customers are asking for new options to help make their trucks their own and we hear them,” said Chad Callander, Ford Ranger marketing manager. “STX Special Edition hits a really compelling and affordable sweet spot for a lot of Ranger buyers looking for just the right combination of tech and style.”

The Ranger STX Special Edition features all-new 18-inch black-painted wheels with machined-finished edges, an 8-inch center touch screen, SYNC 3 that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, AppLink, dual-zone climate controls, silver-painted interior accents and even a privacy glass with a rear defrost feature. All these accessories are available for a package price of $995 MSRP or PHP48,000.

The all new STX Special Edition package is an enhancement to the already available STX Appearance Package which starts at $28,045 or PHP1.35 million. This package is available on Ford Rangers with high XL trim level SuperCab or SuperCrew configuration and 4x2 or 4x4 driveline, and can be bundled with either the FX2 or FX4 Off-Road Package.

“STX has been a strong seller on the base Ranger, but we’ve heard from some customers who want even more style and more tech in their XL trucks,” said Callander. “STX Special Edition now gives those customers that added style with the added benefits of having a touchscreen with SYNC 3 – at an affordable cost.” Ranger STX Special Edition joins other available Ranger packages including STX Appearance Package, Black Package, Chrome Appearance Package, and the Sport Appearance Package.

Ranger buyers can also upgrade their pickup trucks with the recently announced Ranger Tremor Off-Road Package, the most off-road capable, factory-built Ranger ever offered in the U.S. to date.

Ford Philippines offers the Ranger in 12 different variants, with prices ranging from PHP1.03 million to PHP 1.7 million. The base model Ranger comes with a 2.2 liter 4 Cylinder Diesel Engine with a manual transmission. For the price tag, you'll get automatic climate controls, cruise control, crash sensors, and a central locking system.
