Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, GT Performance Edition exceed range estimates
Ford’s sports and performance-oriented EV SUVs have just completed the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification and range labeling processes and exceeded their estimated targets.
According to the American automaker, the Mustang Mach-E GT had a targeted EPA-estimated range of 250 miles while the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition had a targeted EPA-estimated range of 235 miles.
For their final EPA-estimated range, the Mustang Mach-E GT clocked in 270 miles while the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition registered 260 miles, exceeding the targets set by the car manufacturer for both vehicles.
“With Pirelli summer tires and MagneRide damping system, Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition drivers get the performance thrills of zero to 60mph in 3.5 seconds while being able to travel further with the final EPA-estimated range of 260 miles," said Ford Motor Company BEV Global Director Darren Palmer.
“More than half of our orders for the Mustang Mach-E GT have been for the Performance Edition, and I’m particularly pleased that we have had orders from every state across the US,” he adds.
Recently, the Ford Mach-E received the Top Safety Pick award from US IIHS.
Certified safe and with a decent range, Ford gives its customers more reason to buy the electrified version of one of its most popular and longest-running nameplates.
Both models of Ford’s Mach-E will be available in the US in early September with the GT starting from US$59,900 and the GT Performance Edition at US$64,900.
