Ford PH clocks in 1.2k volunteer hours for ‘Global Caring Month’

Ford Philippines staged a tree-planting activity in Cebu for its Global Caring Month celebration in the region.According to the local arm of the Blue Oval brand, it conducted farm produce packing and donation drives alongside Gawad Kalinga (GK) Foundation. Over 800 families in GK villages in Metro Manila and Lambunao in Iloilo received baskets of fresh vegetables that boost their nutrition and overall well-being.
Likewise, Ford Philippines participated in a tree planting activity with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), which generated a total of 1,875 seedlings of native and fruit-bearing trees in Antipolo City.
The abovementioned tree-planting program — Ford Philippines noted — also provided additional source of income for farmers and members of the Malayang Samahan ng mga Katutubo ng Antipolo City (MASAKA) Inc. and Dulhogan Peoples Association as beneficiary and partner in monitoring and maintenance of the reforestation sites.
Ford Philippines also staged a similar undertaking in Cebu where over 5,000 seedlings of native and fruit-bearing trees were planted in Buhisan Watershed Forest Reserve near the Queen City of the South.
Per Ford Philippines, both tree-planting activities were part of the company’s commitment to plant 20,000 trees in 2023.
Previously, Ford has also partnered with PBSP for the Balik-Baterya Program where proceeds of the battery recycling project will be donated to support the organization’s watershed rehabilitation program.
Rounding up Ford Philippines’ celebration of Global Caring Month, the car brand rallied participants for back-to-back visits to the Anawim Lay Missions Foundation and Mother of Mercy Home of Elderly and Abandoned where the volunteers also donated basic needs and supplies to the elderly beneficiaries.
The abovementioned activity, Ford Philippines explained, was in partnership with the AMCHAM (American Chamber) Foundation.
“We thank all our Ford employee and dealer employee volunteers as well as NGO (non-government organization) partners for dedicating their time and talent that led to the successful implementation of our community programs for this year’s Ford Global Caring Month in the Philippines,” Ford Philippines Government and Corporate Affairs Director Josie Gonzalez said.
“This is one of our biggest Global Caring Month celebrations to date and we are committed to continue our efforts to uplift and transform the lives of our beneficiaries and communities we serve with our programs centered around environment protection, health and nutrition, sustainable community development and education,” she added.
