Ford Philippines enjoyed robust sales in the opening quarter of the year, selling 4,634 units in the first three months of 2022.
Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Breen shared the figures during his first meeting with the motoring media since he assumed office.
For March alone, the Blue Oval’s local arm has sold 1,931 units, which reflects a 13-percent increase compared to the same month in 2021.
Spearheading the brand’s sales performance is the Ford Territory, which had its best monthly retail sales a month ago when it delivered 904 units to customers. The aforementioned figure is 51 percent higher versus the same period last year.
With the nameplate’s sales output, the Ford Territory remained the leader in the small sport utility vehicle category after cornering 54 percent share of the market in the first quarter and 63 percent share in March.
“We are off to a great start this year as we see the growing popularity of our Ford vehicle lineup among our customers, particularly the Ford Territory which continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in the market today,” Breen said.
“With the easing of travel restrictions and increased demand for safe mobility, we are optimistic that we will maintain the momentum in the next quarter together with our Ford dealers nationwide.”
Aside from that, Breen announced that the Ford Territory breached the 10,000-unit sales milestone, rolling out 10,758 units in March 2022 after being released to the market in August 2020.
It can be recalled that the badge had its 5,000th-sales mark in June last year, then immediately celebrated its 8,000th sales achievement in November.
“Our 10,000th Ford Territory sales milestone is truly an outstanding feat and would not be possible without the immense support from all Ford Territory owners. We are very excited for what’s to come for the Ford Territory in the country, and we look forward to seeing more Filipino customers own the moment with the Ford Territory,” Breen noted.
Meanwhile, Ford Philippines announced that it is set to sustain its momentum “with the launch of the next-generation Ford Ranger and next-generation Ford Everest in the second half of the year” alongside new customer service innovations that will enhance the ownership experience.
