Ford Philippines announced that the four-wheel drive version of the all-new Explorer is now available in the Philippine market.
The coming of this midsize sport utility vehicle from the Blue Oval brand was announced in the middle of August this year.
The Ford Explorer Limited 4WD variant is expected to raise the bar in the category with its “bolder design and premium driving features that take comfort, convenience, and safety to the next level.”

The all-new Explorer builds on its success as one of Ford’s most rugged and capable mid-size SUVs through several design and feature enhancements, making it a more formidable offering for customers seeking refinement in their SUV,” Ford Philippines managing director Michael Breen said.
The exterior design of the all-new Explorer has been updated as it now wears 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, bright silver-painted mesh grille with chrome bars, silver-painted front and rear skid plate elements, body-color door handles with chrome inserts, satin roof-rack side rails, and chrome dual-exhaust tips. All the external illumination are on LED.
The interior of the all-new Ford Explorer features a combination of ebony-colored trims and light slate-colored uppers, illuminated entry system, multi-color ambient lighting and twin-panel moonroof.
The 10-way power-adjustable seats of the driver and the eight-way for the front passenger can be heated up or ventilated just by a push of a button. The second-row seats are have E-Z Entry mechanism to give access to the third row (which has a 50/50 PowerFold function).
Powering the all-new Ford Explorer is the 2.3L EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology that is paired to a 10-Speed Automatic Transmission. This powertrain can deliver a maximum output of 300hp and 420Nm torque.
Since this version is a 4x4 trim, the said model comes with Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System with Seven Selectable Drive Modes (Deep Sand, Eco, Normal, Sport, Tow Haul, Trail, and Slippery).
Further, the vehicle is fitted with Ford Sync3, eight-inch capacitive touchscreen with swipe capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility that can blast music from the Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker sound system, 6.5-inch color LCD cluster screen, USB ports, wireless charging pad for mobile devices and 230-volt power outlet.
Aside from that, it is also equipped with Remote Start System, Intelligent Access with Push-button Start, Tri-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control with Auxiliary Rear Controls, Steering Wheel and Column comes with Heated, Leather-wrapped with Power Tilt and Telescoping Functions, second-row unblinds, and Hands-free Foot-activated Liftgate.
For its safety features, the all-new Explorer has the Ford Co-Pilot360 that includes 360-Degree Camera, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic, Brake Support, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Evasive Steering Assist, Lane-Keeping System, post-collision braking, reverse brake assist, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.
Available starting December 21, 2021, the all-new Ford Explorer 4WD Limited — which is offered in eight colors namely Agate Black Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Stone Gray, Oxford White, Rapid Red Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, and Star White Metallic (additional P15,000) — is priced at P2.998 million.
