The leadership of Ford Philippines has announced that the company will be bringing in the latest addition to the Ranger lineup, the Ranger Raptor X, stretching the number of variants for the well-loved nameplate to 15.
During his first virtual roundtable discussion with the local media, newly minted Ford Philippines managing director Michael Breen said that the latest member of the Ranger offerings in the country is expected to bolster its leadership in the segment.
“The Ranger Raptor X leverages on the immense success of the Ranger Raptor in the market as we continue to boost our 4x4 truck lineup and reach a new group of performance pickup enthusiasts who are into aesthetic modifications,” Breen said.
However, the Ranger Raptor X will only be offered in a limited number — only 200 units will be allotted for the Philippine market.
Breen mentioned that the Ranger Raptor X is “expected to turn heads on the road” with its aggressive and sporty design elements and exterior upgrades.
Among the notable features of the Ranger Raptor X are its over-the-top (OTT) body stripes covering the bonnet, roof and tailgate with a Carbon Twill Texture in Matte Black framed with a Searing Red Keyline Graphic and side body stripe decal covering side doors and rear quarter panel.
Covered in matte black finish are its grille, door handles, bumper cover, tailgate handle, fender vent, and fog light bezel.
Adding to its outside athletics are an extended leg sports bar, red front tow hooks, and matte black wheels that wear 33-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires.
On the inside, the Ford Ranger Raptor X is fitted with body-contoured sport seats with red stitching throughout the interior. Chrome accent house the air-conditioning vents while hydrographic and Black Alley accents across the dashboard round out the interior enhancements.
The Ranger Raptor X is powered by 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine that has peak performance of 212hp and 500Nm torque, matched to a 10-speed transmission.
Its Terrain Management System (TMS) offers six driving modes which include Baja mode, while the 2.5-inch Fox Racing shocks gives 30 percent more wheel travel compared to the standard Ranger.
Offered in three colors Arctic White, Conquer Gray, and Performance Blue, the Ranger Raptor X will be sold in all Ford dealerships with a price tag of ₱2.038 million.
Ford Philippines revamped its 13-vehicle lineup in February this year. A month after, the local arm for the Blue Oval automaker brought the 14th member of the pack: the Ford FX4 Max.
