Ford has presented the 2025 model year Expedition in the United States (US), which now has a modern look and is equipped with some of the latest technologies from the Blue Oval brand.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What powers the 2025 Ford Expedition?
The 2025 Ford Expedition is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. What is the starting price of the 2025 Ford Expedition?
The 2025 Ford Expedition is priced from $61,700 or approximately P3.508 million. In addition, Ford also expanded the Expedition lineup by adding a new Tremor variant.
The 2025 Ford Expedition full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) is touted as a vehicle for active families with seating for eight people and fully redesigned to help them make the most of every minute together with better versatility, advanced technology, and improved capability.
“For Expedition customers, family is at the center of everything they do,” Ford Utilities General Manager Trevor Scott said.
“We spent more than 1,100 hours talking with customers about their everyday lives. And with those insights, we’ve rethought and redesigned Expedition to help customers make the most of their precious time with family and to make life easier — before, during, and after every trip they make.”
Powertrain
Under the hood of the 2025 Ford Expedition is a standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which is able to generate some 400 horsepower (hp) and 652 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
As for the new Tremor variant, the American carmaker gave it a high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost mill that can put out around 440 hp with 693 Nm of pulling power.
Exterior
Outside, the 2025 Ford Expedition gets a redesigned fascia with headlamps that have a C-shaped accent, somehow akin to the next-generation Everest and Ranger. These flank a grille with large cheese grater-like latticework with integrated lights and the Ford emblem sitting proudly in the middle.
To its side are straight bodylines that go well with the SUV’s linear design, large windows, and large wheels.
At the back, the Dearborn-headquartered brand highlights the new Ford Split Gate, which allows three-quarters of the gate to be raised like a traditional liftgate, while its lower quarter can be folded down like a truck’s tailgate.
“It was designed to not only get customers to where they need to go, but to be the center of the experience once they arrive,” Ford Expedition Exterior Designer Jill Dougherty stated.
“Our goal was to enable customers to linger longer whether they’re at the stadium or the campsite,” she added.
Per Ford, the tailgate can support a weight of up to 226 kilograms and can be fitted with a seatback from the available Cargo Tailgate Manager. The said seatback —- the company pointed out — transforms to turn the tailgate into a serving table with power outlets in the cargo area being just an arm’s length away.
Further, the Ford Split Gate also opens up automatically should owners stand in front of the tailgate for a few seconds with the key fob in their pockets.
Kicking this up a notch, the 2025 Ford Explorer Tremor variant gets off-road ready appointments, which we’ve listed below:
- 33-inch all-terrain tires
- Raptor-inspired running boards
- Front skid plate
- Embedded off-road auxiliary lights
- Underbody protection
“Tremor is the pinnacle of Expedition adventure-ready capability,” Ford Expedition Chief Engineer Adrian Aguirre noted.
“Expedition Tremor delivers off-road capability and hardware shared with F-150 Tremor combined with Expedition big family and cargo-carrying versatility,” he added.
Interior
Inside, the 2025 Ford Expedition is equipped with comfortable leather seats and a leather steering wheel. The latter is fitted with modern multi-functional controls to access some of the features offered by the full-size SUV.
Past the steering wheel is a 24-inch panoramic display screen, which takes the place of a traditional gauge cluster. Here, drivers may check relevant driving information without taking his or her eyes off the road.
There’s still a large infotainment system right at the center of the dashboard. Here, the driver or the front passenger can check applications for navigation and music streaming.
Variants, pricing
The 2025 Ford Expedition — in the carmaker’s US website — is listed in four variants: Active, King Ranch, Platinum, and Tremor. Price starts from $61,700 or approximately P3.508 million.
