Where is Ford Pro E-Switch Assist available?
Ford Pro E-Switch is available in the US and UK.What data does Ford Pro E-Switch use to evaluate vehicles?
Per Ford Pro, E-Switch Assist uses data such as distance driven, cargo load, and vehicle efficiency, to assess connected vehicles.E-Switch Assist uses advanced algorithms developed by the Ford Pro data science team to analyze connected vehicle data.
By looking into aspects like distance driven, cargo load, vehicle efficiency, terrain, driver-specific behavior, external climate, and cabin heating load, the complimentary web-based tool is able to analyze connected vehicle data to compare the energy consumption of gas-powered vehicles with the estimated energy needs of comparable electric vehicles.
As a result, it can recommend which gas-powered vehicles are suitable to be updated to EVs like the Ford E-Transit van and F-150 Lightning pickup.
“Smart tools informed by data like E-Switch Assist are opening up many new conversations with our commercial customers large and small about EV readiness; we’re already using E-Switch Assist regularly in consultations to help organizations determine if electric trucks and vans are right for them,” Ford Pro EV Strategy and Brand Manager Nathan McDonald explained.
“The importance of these tools and technologies goes beyond selling a customer a new vehicle — it changes mindsets about whether electric vehicles will work for their business while potentially saving them time and money,” he added.
E-Switch Assist from Ford Pro is currently available in regions where the Blue Oval brand’s business division operates. These include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Per Ford Pro, E-Switch Assist has evaluated over 38,000 commercial vehicles and revealed that nearly 53 percent are potential candidates for transitioning to electric power.
“Ford Pro E-Switch Assist helps business and government customers determine if they’re ready to add electric vans and trucks to their fleet,” Ford Pro wrote in a press release.
“E-Switch Assist equips businesses with the insights needed to identify which part of their fleet operations are ready to transition to electric without disruption to their business,” it added.
