Ford has received the “Best 4x4 and Pick-up” award from the Women’s World Car of the Year judges, thanks to the next-generation Ranger.
Touted as the most versatile, capable Ranger ever, the Blue Oval’s distributor in the Philippines shared that the latest accolade was the result of the deliberation of a jury made up of 63 women motoring journalists from 45 countries across five continents.
Per Ford Philippines, vehicles across six categories are assessed for safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment, and value for money. “This is a reliable, stylish, and charismatic pick-up. It moves with ease over any terrain. It’s as efficient as an off roader, but more practical thanks to its cargo box,” the judges stated.
“Having worked on the new Ranger right from the beginning, I know how much customer feedback was poured into the truck to ensure it was fit for work, family, and play. And, as a mother, I can fully appreciate the truck’s practicality and versatility. Thank you to the Women’s World Car of the Year jury for this award, which recognizes Ranger’s global appeal and ultimate capability,” Ford Ranger and Everest Platform Program Manager Natasha Milner was quoted as saying.
The latest version of the Ford Ranger wears a new front grille; rear box side steps; wider track and wheelbase; embossed tailgate and LED taillamps; as well as C-clamp LED headlamps that give the vehicle the unmistakable “Built Ford Tough” design.
Inside the cabin are the Ranger-first eight-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch, or best-in-class 12-inch portrait touchscreen, 360-degree camera, and SYNC 4A with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability.
In addition, the next-generation Ford Ranger comes with an upgraded chassis and suspension, together with a 50-millimeter track width increase. All these guaranteed quality ride and handling — whether driving with passengers, hauling cargo or tow.
Its host of advanced driver-assist technologies include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert and braking and comes with up to seven airbags.
The American automotive brand said that the next-generation Ranger was built based on real-world customer feedback, with the team conducting more than 5,000 interviews across multiple countries. The model has also been tested under millions of kilometers across 10 different countries to ensure it meets, or exceeds customer standards in terms of capability, quality, reliability, and durability.
