FordPass to be accessible to PH customers next month

Ford Philippines has introduced the FordPass in the country.

During the recent 25th anniversary celebration, Ford Philippines Managing Director Michael Breen said that the one-stop mobile platform can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is available on mobile devices running on Android 7.0 and above and iOS 14.0 and above. 

As explained by the Blue Oval brand’s local arm, the FordPass designed to provide customers a richer ownership experience. 

The company said that clients whose vehicles are equipped with FordPass Connect (or a cellular modem which contains an e-SIM that enables the vehicle to connect to the internet) can access remote control functionalities such as remote start and stop, lock and unlock, as well fuel level and odometer check.

Customers can also find their vehicles easily in crowded parking areas as the FordPass has a vehicle locator feature.

Further, Ford Philippines said that its team of experts are available via phone call or e-mail to answer any app-related questions.

“FordPass will drive the future of the Ford ownership experience, and we’re very excited to finally be able to launch it in the Philippines to benefit our customers who are technologically-savvy and always on the go,” Breen said.  “With FordPass, it’s like having a personal assistant for your Ford vehicle. We leverage on connectivity to offer our customers a smarter and simpler way of owning a Ford,” he added.

Here's how to install FordPass in a mobile device:

1. Download the mobile app from the appropriate store.
2. Select the FordPass icon on the home screen, then select “Philippines”.
3. Select “Create Account”. Enter details as required then enter mobile number.
4. Press request code. One-time-password (OTP) will be sent via text message.
5. Enter OTP into Authentication Code.
6. Registration is complete with an text message confirmation.

To add a Ford vehicle:

1. Click drop down on top of the screen and select "Add Vehicle."
2. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) and click next then wait for confirmation.
3. Enter a nickname for the Ford vehicle.
4. Click "Activate Vehicle".

Ford Philippines said that all variants of the next-generation Ranger and Everest can access FordPass starting December 2.
