Ford's Donation Match Program to Support 20 Countries with Covid-19
Ford Motor Company Fund has just announced its plans to create unique platforms that will allow its stay-at-home, Ford employees to help fight the global pandemic through the Covid-19 Donation Match Program.
The COVID-19 Donation Match program is a joint effort between Ford Fund and Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford that will match $500,000 (around PhP 25.4 million) in donations to chosen community organizations in the fight against Coronavirus.
This will raise around $1 million (PhP 51 million) for groups all over the world stricken with the Coronavirus pandemic.
“During trying times, Ford employees are used to being the boots on the ground—getting out, signing up and pitching in to help make a difference,” said Mary Culler, president, Ford Motor Company Fund.
“Even now, while many are sheltering in place at home, our employees are looking for ways to help. These two new programs offer meaningful ways for employees to give back and join in the fight against COVID-19.”
Ford Employees and others who want to make a difference by donations can visit www.globalgiving.org/ford-covid-response to view the entire list of participating countries (as well as US cities). They can also learn more about community projects they can support.
GlobalGiving will continuously add new projects and more details on their site over the coming weeks, so employees are encouraged to check back often for updates.
Donate and Make a Difference
The Covid-19 Donation March is giving its Ford employees and its friends and families a platform to donate to the company's supported nonprofit pograms. It is also helping other community organizations that currently aid Coronavirus-stricken areas in more than 20 countries worldwide. It is managed by GlobalGiving, Ford's long-established global-grant making partner. The program's goal is to support community projects in places that have a significant level of emergency needs, with the help of a Ford employee volunteer. These projects will revolve around abating hunger, providing shelter and mobility needs, offering educational resources, or delivering important medical supplies and services to communities in need. Ford Fund and Bill Ford, who was responsible for starting the Ford Volunteer Corps 15 years ago, personally contributed to the $500,00 matching in funds program. Also Read
