Following her gold medal victory at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Filipino weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz is also set to receive numerous gifts from various companies and personalities and one of which is a Foton Transvan.
In a statement, Foton Motor Philippines Inc. (FMPI) announced though its official Facebook page that the brand — which is the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Asia — has “gifted a brand-new Transvan 13-seater” to the country’s first ever gold medalist.
Diaz bagged the top prize in the Women’s Weightlifting 55-kilogram division in this year’s Olympics held in Tokyo—which is the first gold medal in 97 years that the Philippines joined the meet.
According to FMPI President Rommel Sytin, they are privileged to provide the Olympic gold medalist the abovementioned vehicle for her dedication that led to her victory.
“The Filipino Pride stands top high on an international audience with the triumph of our Filipino athlete, Hidilyn Diaz. As she drive home glory, we are honored to prize her utmost dedication with top-rated mobility of Foton Transvan 13-seater,” Sytin was quoted as saying.
The Foton Transvan 13-seater is powered by Euro4-rated 2.8 liter diesel engine and has individual reclinable seats.
