Foton PH invests 1.2-Billion in assembly plant in Clark
Chinese car manufacturer Foton is making a big statement in the local automotive industry with the recent groundbreaking ceremony of its 11-hectare assembly plant in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
According to Foton, the total investment in the assembly plant has reached to P1.2-billion. Capable of producing 12,000 units per year, the newest factory will produce Foton’s passenger vehicle line-up, light-duty and heavy-duty trucks.
In a press statement, Rommel Sytin, Foton Philippines president, said, “This assembly plant is truly the ultimate goal that my brothers and I had. Along with the continued expansion of our dealership and service network, our production facility signifies Foton’s intent to be in the Philippines for the long haul.”
The humble executive shared that the new assembly plant will provide jobs across North to over 500 people. “In all that I do, the greatest satisfaction is in knowing that aside from reaching or my dreams, I have also helped and changed the lives of others” adds Sytin.
Sytin also shared how challenging it was to sell barely 100 units during their first two years of operation. Obviously, the company has gone through rough roads prior to incessantly evincing preeminence in the industry. “It took a while, but we feel very fortunate that all our hard work has paid off,” he said.
The company standing in the automotive industry strives and continues to rise not just to empower their business and of their customers’, but also that of the Philippine economy—a truly admirable feat for a brand that has been in the Philippines for less than a decade.
“By the year 2020, Foton Philippines aims to achieve an annual sales volume of 20,000 units.” explained Sytin.
Moreover, the company persists to pull off even higher target sales through their growing number of dealerships all over the country. This year, Foton will extend its new network dealership to 24 with opening in Quezon Avenue; Pasong Tamo; Marilao; Santa Rosa, Laguna; Batangas City and Camarines Sur. In the next 3 years, Foton expects to reach a total of at least 35 dealerships nationwide.
The Chinese car manufacturer also announced that they would begin exporting vehicles to other neighboring ASEAN countries particularly in Laos and Taiwan.
