Fuso FJ 2528R units turned over to Filipino-owned logistics firm

Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) recently delivered a total of seven FJ 2528R units to Producers Connection Logistics, Inc. (PCL).

Held last March 18 at Paco, Manila, the turnover ceremony was graced by SFP Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing Noriyuki Sekita, PCL Chief Executive Officer Florencia Villanueva, Centro Manufacturing Corporation (CMC) Senior Sales and Marketing Manager Vic Belisario, and Best Southern Genesis Motors, Inc. General Manager Nemesio Solomon Jr..

The general distributor of Fuso trucks in the country said in a statement that PCL — which was established in 2003 — is “focused on the growing demand for logistics services to keep business stable and steadfast.”

“Through strategic plans offering reliable outsourcing services, PCL has expanded its contract warehousing and logistics to allow its client to reduce costs. This includes managing assets and labor, enhancing flexibility, and reducing investments in assets,” the company said.

“Through this partnership, SFP aims to provide PCL and its network improved operational efficiency,” it added.

Aside from the official handover of the FJ 2528R’s keys, SFP also conducted product and driver’s training such as vehicle inspection, basic troubleshooting, and safety driving tips to the PCL operations team to ensure proper handling of the newly-delivered vehicle.

“Our operation is continuously evolving to adapt to the needs of our customers. We are now entering this new phase of our operation as we run our own fleet of trucks. This move allows us to be more flexible and cater to the demand of our business partners. This will also create an opportunity for our clients to expand their business and increase their reach as well.  Optimizing our operation is our objective and we are looking forward to expanding further,” the PCL management noted.

It was just last March when SFP announced the availability of the RORO-ready FJ 2528R F-Wing body.
