Fuso Launches Modern PUV Versions of its Canter Trucks
After its establishment as the general distributor of Fuso trucks and buses in the Philippines, Sojitz Fuso Philippines is declaring this major change-of-hands in a big way with its full-blast launch of its two new model entries for the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP): the Class 2 Canter Commuter and the Class 3 Canter Express.
Both Canter PUVs are powered by a Euro 4-compliant diesel engines and are fully compliant with the Bureau of Philippine Standards PNS 2126:2017 covering body dimensions for the Modern PUV.
Truck body builder Centro Manufacturing Corporation was tasked with producing the passenger bodies of the two Canter PUVs, and company president Raffy Juan was there to show his support for the launch.
"We congratulate Sojitz Fuso Philippines for being appointed the new distributor of Fuso in the Philippines and for proactively joining the PUV Modernization Program of the Philippines," Juan said. "We at Centro wish to say that we are behind Sojitz Fuso Philippines all the way as we usher in the new era of public transport and modern logistics in the Philippines."
The launch of the new Canter PUVs was attended by many personalities in the local automotive and truck industries, and had Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary for Road Transport Mark De Leon as guest of honor and keynote speaker.
