Sojitz Fuso Philippines has recently announced the availability of the all-new Fuso Canter six-wheeler in the local market.
In a Facebook post, Fuso Philippines said that the latest Canter offering has been thoroughly tested, “leaving nothing to chance.”
“It’s finally here! Introducing the all-new Fuso Canter six-wheeler. This new-generation Fuso Canter is completely revised both technically and visually—ready for any challenge, whenever you need it,” Fuso Philippines stated in the social media post.
Offered with 3.0-liter, four-stroke turbocharged direct-inject diesel engine options, the all-new Fuso Canter can provide a peak output of 148hp and 370Nm of torque. This power plant is paired to a five-speed manual transmission on synchromesh gears for smoother shifts. This vehicle also has the capacity to carry up to 100 liters of fuel.
On the outside, the latest Canter retailed in the market wears a revised front fascia (which somehow reminds us of the Dynamic Shield design that modern Mitsubishi models now possess—only flat), leaner and bigger fog lamps.
The all-new Fuso Canter offers a more spacious cabin, thanks to its tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, reclining seats and dashboard–mounted gear shift lever (dropping the long-throw type that many are accustomed to).
Further, its safety features include seatbelts (three-point type for the driver outermost passenger, and lap belt for the middle passenger), collapsible steering wheel, and side impact beams.
The Fuso Canter is being sold in four variants the base model FE71 (which is the four-wheeler kind), and the newly launched three variants namely:
