Astara-operated Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor Co., Ltd. (GAC Motor) has recently dropped the latest iteration of its flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV) — the all-new GS8.
Its face-lifted design brought about a more mature look to the Chinese automotive brand’s local SUV segment entry. Its modern minimalist exterior made for the perfect backdrop for the four available hues GAC Motor has endowed the GS8.
Interested to see what the four colors are and which among them best suits the GAC GS8? Join us to find out.
A unique color for an SUV, Ink Seal Green brings the luxurious side of the GAC GS8 making it look like a large jade figure befitting its Chinese heritage. True enough, this paint serves as a prologue to the upmarket amenities one will find inside the SUV.
Standard is a leather-wrapped steering wheel, seats swathed in leather and leatherette and with diamond stitching, a three-zone automatic air conditioning system, and multi-color intelligent ambient lighting.
Further, the GAC GS8 offers rear air-conditioning vents for passengers at the back as well as a large panoramic sunroof — just in case occupants of GAC’s flagship SUV would want a bit of fresh air.
And while self-proclaimed sneakerheads think about scouting for shoes when they hear or read the words “crystal” and “white,” car guys often think of safety when they come across this achromatic paint.
White, for those who do not know, is always associated with safety since vehicles in this hue are less involved in accidents according to studies.
But a clean white finish is not the only safety feature this SUV has to offer. In fact, it has plenty.
To begin with, the GAC GS8 comes standard with dual front airbags, dual front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. It also has an electronic stability program, hydraulic brake assist, hill-start hold control, hill descent control, an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold feature, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Moonlight Gray makes the GAC GS8 look like a classy and tech-savvy SUV, and we’re not wrong.
Past its muti-functional steering wheel with paddle shifters is a seven-inch digital instrument panel that displays relevant driving information in crisp detail. Alongside it is a larger-than-life 14.6-inch infotainment system.
These digital screens act as monitors for the GAC GS8’s onboard driving nannies, like its HD surround vision parking system.
While this black hue is indeed elegant, it gives off more of a powerful and menacing vibe that makes the GAC GS8 a force to be reckoned with while on the road.
Under its hood is a 2.0-liter TGDi engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Per GAC, this setup puts out 248 horses with 400Nm of raw pulling power.
The GAC GS8 is offered in a single variant and is currently priced at P2.298 million.
