GAC Motor PH expands GS8 lineup with 4x4 trim

GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Corporation) Motor Philippines has expanded its GS8 lineup as it unveiled the model's four-wheel-drive option.

At the GAC Discovery Drive Fest, the Astara-led firm officially revealed the all-new GS8 4WD. The introduction of the latest offering, GAC Motor Philippines said, is the company’s response to the queries of its “discerning customers who want a perfectly-capable premium sport utility vehicle (SUV) for off-road trips.”

Astara Philippines Marketing Director Franz Decloedt shared that the nameplate enjoyed a tremendous success since it was offered in the country and continues to be one of the Chinese automotive brand’s best-selling models locally.

“It is masterfully designed to exude confidence on the road and is perfect for customers seeking distinction and refinement in their SUV,” he added.

Basically, the newest offering is just a more capable version of the already-available front-wheel-drive variant (launched with the Empow sedan at the start of the year) as it also comes with additional drive modes.

Powering the newly-launched vehicle is the potent 2.0-liter gasoline engine that comes in four-wheel-drive format. The mill is still mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that can be controlled by the paddle shifters at the back of the electronic powered, multi-functional steering wheel.

What made the all-new GAC GS8 4WD more premium inside the cabin are the 10-speaker Alpine sound system, and a ventilated front central armrest compartment.

In terms of safety features, the all-new GAC GS8 4WD still wears a myriad of safety features that include the full-speed range adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition system, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, and integrated cruise assist.

Offered at a special introductory price (valid until September 30, 2023 only) of P2.548 million, the all-new GAC GS8 4WD is packaged with a five-year warranty. GAC Motor Philippines is already accepting pre-orders for its newest offering at all GAC Motor dealerships nationwide.

Those who want to see the vehicle in the metal may visit the three-day mall display and customer test drive event at the Glorietta 2 in Makati City up to August 27.
