The local arm of Guangzhou Automobile Corporation (GAC) has partnered with a radio station to help promote and support local Filipino artists.
GAC Motor Philippines has thrown its support to Wish FM 107.5’s "Wishcovery Originals" — a local singing-songwriting competition.
As part of the winnings, the grand winner on the Wishcovery Originals will also be taking home a brand-new GAC GA4 1.5L AT GE.
The vehicle (which is the entry model for the GAC brand) is powered by a Euro-5 compliant 1.5-liter engine that can produce a power output of 113hp and 150Nm torque. Other features of the vehicle include eight-inch color LCD display, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, four-speaker system, cruise control, parking sensors, and eco-drive mode.
Among the contestants who reached the grand finals of the contest are alternative-folk musician Peniel Roxas, From Outtakes rock troupe, White Caps acoustic outfit, PIP pop-rock band, pop-R&B singer-songwriter JC Sales, acoustic singer Anthony Meneses, and lady tunesmith Mei Teve.
GAC Motor Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Wilbert Lim said that the company shares the same vision of Wish FM’s newest endeavor.
“The OPM industry needs fresh new talents to make the local music industry grow. Together with Wish FM, GAC Motor Philippines is one with their goal in uplifting the music industry by encouraging these young talents to fulfill their dreams in becoming an OPM artist. We hope the GA4 that we will be giving will further inspire them to hone their talents,” Lim was quoted as saying.
The Wishcovery Originals grand finals will be streamed on November 7 at 8 p.m. on Wish 107.5 YouTube channel.
