In time for the brand’s fifth-year anniversary celebration, GAC Motor Philippines has trimmed down the pricing for the Emkoo sport utility vehicle (SUV).
In a statement, the Chinese automaker’s local distributor said that the base trim (GE) of the aforementioned model (revealed at the Manila International Auto Show 2023) now wears a P1.298 million price tag while the top-of-the-line variety (GL) will be retailed for P1.498 million.
During the unveiling, the crossover was priced at P1.413 million and P1.553 million for the GE and GL variants, respectively.
The company said that customers who reserved the vehicle last April will also enjoy the same adjustment.
“GAC Motor has always been at the forefront of technological innovation to build cars that are high quality, exceptionally durable, and great to drive. The EMKOO embodies these principles, and our new retail pricing makes this remarkable vehicle even more accessible to a wider audience of Filipino customers who want style, comfort, and technological advancements in a reliable SUV,” GAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Redentor Cajayon said.
To note, the GAC Emkoo is powered by a 1.5-liter GDI turbo gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet dual clutch transmission. The pairing allows the vehicle to do 16.1 kilometers per liter consumption. The same mill can also provide as much as 177 horsepower and 270 Newton-meters of torque.
It also comes with various safety features, such as multiple airbags, electronic stability program, hill start hold and hill descent controls, and a tire pressure monitoring system among others.
Further, the GAC can be had in five color options namely Star Lake Green, Snow White, Moonlight Grey, Superstar Silver and Elegant Black.
Relatedly, the company is set to hold test drives on the following dates to herald the Emkoo’s arrival and start of retails:
Within seven months since the brand’s relaunch in January, the company’s operational dealerships are rapidly increasing from four to 15 by end of July. “We remain committed to give all our customers unparalleled experience with not just our vehicles but more importantly through our dealerships. We are doing great progress towards expanding our nationwide presence to 20 dealers in 2023 to reach more customers from Luzon to Mindanao,” Cajayon added.
