GAC Motor PH YTD sales up by 276% in Jul. 2023

GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Corporation) Motor Philippines experienced a 276-percent sales growth in the full seven months of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

Astara Philippines Marketing Director Franz Decloedt made the announcement at the opening day of the GAC Discovery Drive Fest being held at Glorietta 2, Ayala Center in Makati City.

 

According to Decloedt, the Chinese automaker’s local distributor was able to sell 825 units during the January-July 2023 timeline.

“We are elated to celebrate our exceptional 7-month streak in sales performance, which is a testament to our team's hard work, innovation, and the trust our customers have in us. Our brand's dedication to delivering cutting-edge vehicles that cater to the evolving needs and preferences of our Filipino customers has been the driving force behind this impressive sales trajectory,” Decloedt said.

For his part, Astara Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello expressed his appreciation to customers who have continuously trusted the brand.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a role in our success story — our customers who have chosen to drive with us, our partners who have supported our endeavors, and our dedicated team members who have worked tirelessly to make this all possible,” Picello said.

GAC Motor Philippines might further enjoy the said trend as it continues to expand its lineup for the Philippine market.

Last Friday, the company launched the four-wheel-drive version of the GS8. Prior to that, GAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Redentor Cajayon told Carmudi Philippines that the firm is eyeing to bring in its first new energy vehicle — the Emkoo Hybrid — within the final quarter of the year.

Relatedly, Astara Philippines is expected to announce some changes in its manpower in the coming days.
