Geely-owned brands showcase next-gen products at Auto Shanghai 2023
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) wowed attendees of the ongoing Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition by flexing the next-generation products of brands under its umbrella, namely Geely Auto, Zeekr, Lynk and Co, Volvo Cars, Polestar, Smart, and Lotus.

The conglomerate’s flagship brand, Geely Auto, took its new Galaxy Light electric concept and Galaxy L7 long-range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sport utility vehicle (SUV) to the Auto Shanghai 2023.
Meanwhile, Zeekr, Geely Holding’s electric vehicle (EV) brand, brought the Zeekr X. The EV SUV — the consortium pointed out — was launched ahead of the Chinese auto expo. The brand also unveiled new details on its plans to enter the European market with the Zeekr 001 and X being the first products set to be offered to European customers later this year.
For its part, Lynk and Co unveiled its newest mid-sized hybrid electric SUV, the 08. Lynk and Co also announced their plans to accelerate the expansion of the brand’s presence in Gulf Regions and in Southeast Asian markets and offer users a wider selection of products.
As for Volvo Cars, the marque debuted its EX90 flagship electric SUV and the EX90 Excellence.
Polestar, on the other hand, held the debut of its fully-electric Polestar 4 SUV coupé at the exhibit. The brand also showcased nameplates like the Polestar 3 SUV and the updated 2024 Polestar 2.
Geely Holding’s joint venture with Mercedes-Benz, dubbed Smart, debuted its second electric model, Smart #3. Following its debut in China, Geely Holding stated that the Smart #3 will enter European markets at a later date.
Finally, Lotus took the opportunity at the Shanghai show to showcase its first electric Hyper SUV, the Eletre. Geely Holding revealed that sales and deliveries of Eletre already started last month in China and will start soon for global customers with show cars being delivered to many Lotus dealers abroad.
“Geely Holding regards the Shanghai show as an opportunity to demonstrate its international reach, with portfolio automotive brands expanding their presence in Europe, Asia Pacific, Mideast, and America. All of the Group’s portfolio brands have showcased electrified products developed from the onset for both China and the global markets,” the corporation wrote in a press release.
