Geely was able to sell more than 15,000 units in the past three years.To start off, Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation — who relaunched the brand in the country on September 25, 2019 — recorded its newest best monthly sales performance after closing September 2022 with 1,112 units sold. The number breached the 1,058 vehicles rolled out to customers in July 2022.
Providing the majority for the output is the Geely Coolray with 654 examples delivered to buyers in September 2022 — continuing to be the company's best-selling nameplate locally.
The three-year-old firm has also reached its 15,000-unit sales milestone after turning over 7,311 vehicles to clients during the full nine months of the year. The January-September 2022 sales reflected a 92-percent growth when compared to the same period in 2021.
This year, the Chinese automaker’s automotive distributor in the country participated in two of the biggest motoring events in the country: the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) and the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), which was organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI).
SGAP President and Chief Executive (CEO) Yugo Kiyofuji expressed his appreciation after the got its membership in the local automotive distributor’s organization. "It is a clear testament that Geely is a brand going from strength to strength, as supported by its growing customer base and dealer network,” he said.
During the recently-concluded PIMS 2022, SGAP showcased its full line-up namely the Geely Coolray, Okavango, Emgrand, and Azkarra. The roster, the company noted, allowed the marque to climb to the industry’s top 10 ranking in such a short time.
Further, SGAP also said that it is keen on widening its reach as it plans to increase the number of dealerships from the current 34 to more than 40 outlets for the interim.
“Not only limited to the quantity of the dealers, but we are shifting more towards improving the quality of the dealers to satisfy the customers even more, especially in the aftersales area. Backed up with Geely global strategy as well as what we do to cope with the customers’ needs in the Philippines, I am very much excited with what the future holds for Geely in the Philippine market,” the SGAP CEO shared.
