After having its grand teaser at the Manila International Auto Show 2023 last April, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) has officially launched to the local market its latest offering, Geely GX3 Pro.
Geely Philippines’ newest offering in the country — which is eyed to provide a “unique driving experience” to customers — is set to compete with the Toyota Raize, Chery Tiggo 2 Pro, and Kia Stonic — among others.
The Chinese automaker’s entry-level crossover is 4,005 millimeters (mm) long; 1,760mm wide; and 1,575mm tall with a 2,480mm wheelbase and 185mm ground clearance.
It also has a hauling capacity of 500 liters and carry 45 liters of fuel in its tank.
While it is minute in size, the Geely GX3 Pro is a pocket rocket.
Powering the Geely GX3 Pro is a 1.5-liter inline four, 16 valve, double overhead cam with dual variable valve timing mechanism that has a peak output of 102 horsepower and 142 Newton-meters of pulling power. The said engine can also be found under the hood of the Emgrand.
In addition, the powertrain matched to a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission (that also has a sport mode feature).
Guaranteeing the vehicle’s stopping power are the disc brakes on all wheels (ventilated for the front, solid for the rear) that has an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.
Further, the Geely GX3 Pro wears a front fascia design that is similar to its subcompact sedan brethren. Its grille has vertical planks that are housed in chrome. These are bordered with projector-type halogen headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
At the side are faux carbon side mirrors with turn signal repeaters and satin silver roof rails that give the vehicle a sporty vibe. Complementing the aforementioned look are the 16-inch, 10-spoke gun-metal wheels.
The cabin of the Geely GX3 Pro comes with a 3.5-inch meter cluster and a floating eight-inch infotainment system that has screen mirroring as well as Bluetooth and Carbitlink connectivity. The number of speakers fitted on the vehicle ranges from two to six (depending on the trim).
Front seats are manually adjustable (six-way for driver and four-way for passenger) while the rear bench can split 60-40 and has Isofix tethers.
The top-spec option is equipped with sunroof and leather-wrapped D-shaped steering wheel, while the base variant is fitted with a polyurethane steering wheel.
Outfitted in the Geely GX3 Pro are numerous driver assistive and safety technologies. Offered as standard are the dual front airbags, reverse camera with dynamic guide lines, rear parking sensors, tire pressure warning, and central locking system.
Meanwhile, the crème-dela-crème variation is provided with traction and stability control, hill start assist and hill descent control, cruise control as well as anti-theft system.
Moreover, the Geely GX3 Pro is packaged with GServ+ that covers five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first) and one-year roadside assistance, among others.
Available in red, blue, white, and grey body color options, the pricing for the Geely GX3 Pro are as follows:
