Geely says that it has sold nearly 400,000 Coolray units worldwide to date. The report comes after only two years since the nameplate was introduced into the global market.
According to Geely, the Coolray crossover quickly rose to the top three best-selling compact SUVs in the Chinese market. The Geely Coolray later entered the global automotive scene and was launched in various regions including the Philippines, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
Soon after, Geely entered the local automotive landscape in 2019, the Geely Coolray became the brand’s top-seller in the small SUV segment in most months from 2020 to 2021.
Meanwhile, the Geely Coolray has also become popular in other countries like Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. In Belarus, Coolray became a big seller as soon as it was launched and ranked fifth in sales in the local market segment earning over 35 percent of the region’s market share.
On the other hand, it also made an impact in Russia and Saudi Arabia where there’s a cumulative sales growth of over 230 percent year-over-year from January to August 2021 with a record-high sales volume.
And as it continued to rack in good sales figures, the Geely Coolray also won various awards from different media — both locally and globally.
Geely Philippines is currently offering the Coolray locally and recently introduced a sporty version of the crossover called the Coolray Sport Limited. It comes with ventilated seats, an electric tailgate with angle memory function, and black turbine-inspired sports rims.
It’s currently offered alongside the Azkarra and the Okavango.
