In a bid to bolster its presence in the cruiser category, Harley-Davidson of Manila over the weekend officially dropped the drapes on the all-new Sportster S.
The “first chapter of the new-generation Sportster legacy”, the all-new Harley-Davidson Sportster S was released globally in the first half of 2021.
In a statement, the local dealer of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the country shared that the newly launched Sportster S has been rebuilt as a lightweight custom cruiser that modernizes the evolution of the Sportster platform.
Harley-Davidson of Manila President Francis Jonathan Ang expressed confidence in the latest addition to the existing lineup, saying that it “will become a game changer in the sport custom segment.”
“Harley-Davidson raised the bar with Sportster S with its design elements and technological advancements while staying true to its spirit of iconic rugged off-road motorcycle,” he said.
“This is the ultimate ride for those who seek a rush of thrill, power, and performance engineered with aggressive agility that is sure to deliver a great riding experience.” Ang added.
Powering this high-performing model is the liquid-cooled, V-twin, all-new Revolution Max 1250T engine that dishes out a peak output of 121hp and 125Nm. This is mated to a six-speed transmission system.
The motorcycle offers three pre-programmed Ride Modes — Sport, Rain and Road — and enables riders to create a specific combination of power delivery, engine braking, ABS system and traction control settings based on one’s preference in custom mode.
The vehicle is supported by a premium Showa suspension, and sits on 17-inch front and 16-inch rear tires.
Brembo’s 32mm new radial, four-piston, caliper system not just provides the stopping power; it has been designed with sharp edges with softer curves to complement the character of the all-new Harley-Davidson Sportster S.
Matching the intense performance is a myriad of safety features such as anti-brakelock system, traction control, drag-torque slip control system (designed to reduce excessive rear-wheel slip and help prevent rear wheel lock under powertrain-induced deceleration), as well as tire pressure monitoring system.
Further, the newly introduced model features a four-inch-round color TFT LCD with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation panel that shows digital gauges, indicators, and ride modes that can be managed with hand control buttons. It also has infotainment functions generated by the rider’s Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.
Its illumination system is all LED, with the signature daylight headlamp giving a homogenous spread of light.
Retailed in three color options, namely Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson, and Stone Washed Pearl, the price of the all-new Harley-Davidson Sportster S starts at P1.03 million.
Harley-Davidson of Manila Assistant Vice President and General Jay Bautista invited customers and motorcycle enthusiasts to check out the Sportster S at its dealerships in Greenhills, San Juan and Bonifacio Global City in Taguig for a test ride.
“Built to outperform and to make a statement with its stunning style, the Sportster S is here to give you that top-of-the-line riding experience. So put on your riding gear, take it for a ride and enjoy the rush of freedom it brings.”
