The event, Harley-Davidson of Manila shared in a statement, will feature live music, customer awards, vehicle displays, dealer test rides, riding skills exhibition, food and drinks, plus a fireworks display on the night of the 24th to cap off the festivities.
H-D of Manila Assistant Vice President and General Manager Jay Bautista is inviting motorcycle enthusiasts to join in the celebration. “We, at the dealership, thank our loyal customers and H-D fans for being with us through our 10 years. Ride on over and we hope to see you celebrate with us,” he added.
Per American Motorcycles, Inc. (AMI) President Francis Jonathan Ang, the dealership's journey over the years serves as a testament to the commitment to not only fulfill dreams of personal freedom but also to provide the ideal selection of Harley-Davidson motorcycles to fuel the passion of our customers.
"And with the growing popularity and appeal of motorcycle riding to the next generation of riders, we look forward to ushering in a new era of fulfilling freedom for the soul,” he added.
Through the years
H-D of Manila recalled that in its second year of operations it received Asia Emerging Markets (AEM) Best Performance Growth Award. The company said that the performance was driven by sales of the Street Family models that came in two variants — the Street XG750 and XG500, both launched in 2015.
“It was the ideal step-in to the Harley-Davidson cult, especially for a new rider entering the big bike segment. It also generated a good market base for future upgrades, with bikes that are lightweight, nimble, and easy to learn, all at an affordable price point,” the dealer added.
A year after, the dealership continued to receive accolades, getting the Dealer of the Year Award.
After two consecutive years of showing strong business performance, the group received approval from AEM to open a second branch, becoming the third authorized Harley-Davidson dealership operating in the Philippines. In May 2017, Harley-Davidson of Manila officially opened its BGC branch at the Shangri-La at the Fort.
Equally, the H-D of Manila BGC branch also showed a strong track record when it won the 2021 Best MC (Motorcycle) Performance award in the Philippine Dealers Award last year.
HOG Manila celebration
Aside from the dealership’s commemoration of its decade-long business, the Milwaukee-headquartered motorcycle brand’s first outlet in the country is also celebrating the 10th year of its its local riding club — the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Manila Chapter.
The group’s celebration coincided with the HOG’s 40th founding anniversary. To note, HOG is the bar-and-shield marque’s official sponsored riding club as part of its community-building efforts.
The HOG Manila Chapter was also recognized by AEM after being awarded the 2022 Chapter of the Year after competing with more than 30 chapters from 10 countries in the region.
True to its core “Ride and Have Fun,” HOG Manila Chapter and H-D of Manila will kick off the celebration with a ride from the Greenhills showroom to HOG Manila Eco Park in Daang Kalikasan Mangatarem, Pangasinan on June 23 for a tree-planting activity as part of the group’s program PH Ride with Purpose that advocates responsible motorcycle riding and moto tourism to help boost the local economy.
“All riders, regardless of brand and engine displacements are welcome to join PH Ride with Purpose on June 24 and 25 at the Subic Bay Boardwalk,” HOG Manila Chapter Director Yen Roxas.
A P1,000-registration fee entitles participants to a food voucher worth P300 plus two drinks. The rest of the proceeds will go to the funding of HOG Manila’s corporate social responsibility activities.
