Harley-Davidson of Manila unveils latest touring models for PH

Harley-Davidson of Manila has unveiled its latest touring models in the country, the Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST.

The dealership conducted an open house over the weekend to showcase the newly-introduced offerings for the Philippine market. The two models were launched alongside the 2022 Softail and Sportster S in new colors.

In a statement, Harley-Davidson Asia Emerging Markets and India Managing Director Sajeev Rajasekharan said that the company “has consistently delivered the highest standards in performance, engineering, and innovative technology, and the 2022 product line reflects this, defined by performance and style.”

Launched globally last January, the two models are both powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin power mill that can provide up to 172Nm of torque.

“Harley-Davidson has seen a phenomenal response in the Philippines among riding enthusiasts for past open house launches and we are confident that the new models will bring about the same interest. With the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine as a key highlight in the new models, the 2022 models are optimized for power and performance, promising an unforgettable ride that is uniquely Harley-Davidson. We look forward to seeing the new models on the roads in the Philippines as riders embark on their adventures with their new bikes” Rajasekharan added.

To easily differentiate the two, the Harley-Davidson Street Glide ST sports a batwing fairing while the Road Glide ST wears the shark nose type.

The latest offerings feature a heavy breather intake with forward-facing exposed air cleaner, emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers, 49mm forks with dual bending valve suspension technology, Reflex-linked Brembo brakes with anti-lock braking system as well as Boom! Box GTS infotainment system with color touch screen, two fairing-mount speakers and hidden radio antenna.

Further, Harley-Davidson offers the following technology package (called as Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson) option to the Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST models.

• Cornering Electronically Linked Brakes
• Cornering-ABS
• Cornering-Traction Control with modes
• Drag Torque Slip Control
• Vehicle Hold Control
• Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS)

 

In an interview, Harley Davidson of Manila Vehicle Sales Manager Luiji Lardizabal considers the launch of the models as very timely now that the many areas in the country are now under a more relaxed alert restriction.

“Plus, it cannot be denied that the best way to travel during these times is on a motorcycle,” he told Carmudi Philippines.
