Harley-Davidson Reveals Latest Motorcycle Concepts
Harley-Davidson gets more experimental as it attempts to deliver on its promise to "inspire even more people around the world to experience the exhilaration of riding a motorcycle" with three new concept motorcycles. The popular American motorcycle brand launched the trio as part of "More Roads to Harley-Davidson," an all-encompassing new business strategy that accelerates the brand's 2027 objectives to 2022.
All three motorcycle concepts, which include a Pan America adventure tourer, streetfighter, and a custom cruiser, will rely on a new modular middleweight platform that's set to use liquid-cooled engines and range from 500 to 1250 cc, further attesting the platform's versatility.
The 1250cc Pan America adventure tourer will replace the discontinued Buell Ulysses, and the inspiration is obvious, starting with the rugged tires and bulky skid plates, and then completed by the upright riding position and high ground clearance.

The 975cc unnamed streetfighter concept shows Harley-Davidson branching out into new territory, as it is something never before seen in their lineup. It's easy to assume, with the bike's racetrack-approved bodywork and aggressive posture, that the ol' Bar and Shield may be targeting a certain Italian motorcycle builder and give it a run for its money.

Meanwhile, the 1250cc custom cruiser, also unnamed, sees the American bike manufacturer sticking to what it knows best. Although imbued with a bit more modern flair than their usual creations, the custom cruiser is a Harley through and through. Those who may have been alienated by the approach taken with the two mentioned concept bikes will be happy to know that Harley-Davidson will still continue to stick to its guns, at least for the time being.

"The bold actions we are announcing today leverage Harley-Davidson's vast capabilities and competitive firepower--our excellence in product development and manufacturing, the global appeal of the brand and of course, our great dealer network," said Matt Levatich, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson, Inc. "Alongside our existing loyal riders, we will lead the next revolution of two-wheeled freedom to inspire future riders who have yet to even think about the thrill of riding."
All three concepts are scheduled for production in 2020.
