Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is set to provide more heart pounding-action in the second leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup 2023 this weekend.
Scheduled tomorrow (September 9) at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga, race fans are invited to watch on-site and online beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Those who want to see the race cars and the drivers battle it out on the tracks may do so since the event is open to the public with no admission fee. Meanwhile, motorsports fans may also opt to view the race via livestream on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Facebook page.
To recall, the initial leg for this year’s series resulted to Jarond Mesina and Ian Rosales of Team Toyota Cebu headlining the Circuit Championship races in the Promotional and Super Sporting classes, respectively while Bern Corpino of Toyota Balintawak-Obengers Racing Team claimed the first spot on the podium for Sporting Class.
Vios Cup rookie Patricia Tenorio of Zigwheels (Carmudi Philippines' sister company under Carbay Philippines) immediately earned a victory at the Media Promotional Division, and Siegwald Go took first place in the Media Sporting Category.
The Promotional Influencer Class delivered an amazing all-female podium finish with Bianca Yao leading in the number one spot; followed by Arriane Bautista and Apple David in second and third spots, respectively. Lastly, Miguel Romulo clinched the Sporting Influencer Class championship.
For the forthcoming leg, TMP shared that the racers are ready to put on a show — “in the spirit of healthy competitions.”
Participants who will be at the grid for the Circuit Championship category shall race against one another in their respective classes. On the other hand, Autocross Challenge drivers need to cover a predetermined obstacle course in the fastest time possible.
The Circuit Championship and Autocross Challenge for this leg will feature Troy Montero, Enzo Pineda, Ryan Agoncillo, Macoy Dubs, Genesis Redido, Ezra Domingo, and Apple David.
They will also be joined by Reph Bangsil, Arianne Bautista, beauty queens Carla Lizardo and Megan Young, Migy Romulo, Benedict Cua, Bianca Yao and Lexi Mendiola.
Further, TMP will also display its GR lineup — the GR Supra and GR Yaris — at the event. In addition, the new-generation Tamaraw Concept shall serve as the pace car on Saturday while the Altis GR-S HEV race car will further stir excitement as it joins the Circuit Race and Autocross Challenge.
