The Hennessey Venom F5 is America's Next Hypercar

Hennessey Venom F5

Hennessey Special Vehicles has unveiled its next-generation hypercar after its Venom GT in the highly-anticipated Hennessey Venom F5.

The Venom F5 is an all-new hypercar and was designed and built with only one goal in mind: "to be the absolute fastest road car on earth," which means it should be faster than the Bugatti Veyron (431.072 kph) and Bugatti Chiron (estimated to be 463 kph), and the aforementioned Hennessey Venom GT which reached 435.31 kph over a single direction. To achieve this goal, Hennessey Special Vehicles came up with a completely new design for the Venom F5 that's focused on aerodynamics to give it the lowest possible drag coefficient of just 0.33 with its active aerodynamics on.

Development of the Hennessey Venom F5 is far from over though as the American carmaker is still working on its all-new, twin-turbo V8 engine that it hopes will produce over 1,600 hp through a seven-speed single clutch, paddle-shift transmission to the rear tires. The Venom F5 also promises to be lightweight at 2,950 lbs. thanks to its lightweight chassis and carbon-fiber body.

With the F5’s combination of light weight, low drag, and power output, its projected acceleration from 0 to 300 kph is less than 10 seconds, making it quicker than current Formula 1 race cars, while its 0-to-400-kph-to-0 times is estimated to be under 30 seconds. The projected top speed of the Venom F5 is over 483 kph.

"We've designed F5 to be timeless so that in 25 years, it will still have a level of performance and design that will be unmatched," said Hennessey Special Vehicles founder and CEO John Hennessey. "The F5 is an all-new car, designed and built from the ground up, from the engine to the chassis. We expect the Venom F5, named for the most powerful tornado speed winds on the Fujita scale, to be the first road car capable of achieving more than 300 mph (over 483 kph)."

Hennessey Special Vehicles only plans to build 24 units of the Hennessey Venom F5 with a starting price of $1.6 million (over P82 million) each.
