Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. gave its Filipino fans a treat last November when it released the family-friendly Stargazer multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
Not only does the new MPV segment contender boast a striking modern look, it also comes with a budget-friendly sticker price that’s just a little over P1 million.
That said, it has become one of the most popular MPV models soon after its arrival in the country.
Today, we break down the four available colors for the Philippine-spec Hyundai Stargazer to help buyers who want to drive home the carmaker’s latest people carrier.
White could probably just be the best color for a family car — or MPV for this matter. That’s because white gives off a calming color that won’t appear to be intimidating, especially for the little ones.
In addition, white (according to studies) is the safest color on the palette. Research shows that white vehicles are less involved in vehicular accidents.
Its achromatic color effectively ensures that it can be seen on the road both during daytime and nighttime. Further, compared to other colors, white does not blend with most backgrounds.
And while on the topic of safety, it is reassuring that the Hyundai Stargazer comes with features like an anti-lock brake system, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, manual speed limit assist, and most importantly, child seat anchors.
Further, the Korean marque equipped the Stargazer with Hyundai Smartsense Technology, which adds forward collision-avoidance assist, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, a rearview monitor, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and driver attention warning to the vehicle.
For many car people, the color red represents sportiness and spirited driving.
Even the founder of the Prancing Horse brand was quoted saying, “ask a child to draw a car, and certainly he will draw it red.”
While the Hyundai Stargazer will definitely not hold a candle against a Ferrari, its powertrain setup is powerful enough to take a family of seven from point A to point B.
Powering the Hyundai Stargazer is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to the carmaker’s intelligent variable transmission. On paper, this setup produces about 113 horsepower with 144Nm of torque.
The Hyundai Stargazer looks extremely elegant in Midnight black pearl. This dark paint complements the modern appointments bestowed on the likewise modern MPV.
At its fore is a black honeycomb grille flanked by angular LED headlamps and bulb-type foglamps. Rounding up the futuristic front end are the horizontal light bar at the top of the fascia and the faux skid plates at the bottom, which give the Stargazer the look of reliability.
To its side are body-colored side mirrors and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The rear of the Hyundai Stargazer is bedecked with further features like a rear spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp, a pair of LED and bulb-type rear combination lamps, as well as a rear light bar that mimics what’s found at the front.
This body paint option will make the Hyundai Stargazer look like a tech-savvy MPV, which is affirmed by the suit of features found in it.
Inside, the Hyundai Stargazer packs modern toys such as power windows, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that doubles as a rearview monitor, and a wireless charger.
For added convenience, the Hyundai Stargazer comes with rear A/C vents with analog control, a seat-mounted tray for when the kids need to chow, and a power outlet to keep handheld devices charged.
The Hyundai Stargazer is currently offered in three variants, namely GL, GLS, and GLS Premium. They are priced from P1.038 million to P1.258 million.
