TMP opens utility vehicle's pre-order books
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has started the reservation period for the next-generation Tamaraw.
The utility vehicle standard options for the Philippine market are the dropside (low and high options), utility van (in short and long wheelbase formats), and aluminum van — with conversion accessories that turn the model into a patrol van, ambulance, refrigerated van, camping vehicle, food truck, fire truck, and mobile service vehicle.
It measures 5,305 millimeters (mm) long and 1,795 mm wide — with a 3,085 mm wheelbase. However, the height varies from 1,711-2,011 mm and can carry up to 1,125 kilograms (depending on the chosen design).
The model’s five standard options were displayed at the recently-concluded Toyota Road Trek 17.
Its engine options are the 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV diesel that has peak churn of 148 horsepower (hp) and 400 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque and the 2.0-liter 1TR-FE gasoline that can max output of 137 hp and 183 Nm.
The diesel-powered mill can be had in six-speed automatic or a five-speed manual gearbox while the gasoline-propelled version only comes in five-speed manual transmission.
Amenities inside the vehicle’s cab are the urethane steering wheel, a seven-inch display (double din audio system) paired with two speakers, and two cup holders.
In addition, the next-generation Toyota Tamaraw is equipped with airbags, as well as disc and drum brakes for the front and rear wheels with anti-lock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution.
The said vehicle is being offered via 10-percent low down payment or extended loan term up to 84 months under Toyota Financial Services’ “Kabuhayan on Wheels Financing” term.
Lastly, the next-generation Toyota Tamaraw is packaged with the following warranty coverages:
To note, the next-generation Toyota Tamaraw was first unveiled locally in August 2023 during the company’s 35th-anniversary celebration. It was formally presented by no less than Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chairman Akio Toyoda.
