Volkswagen Philippines is ready to launch the Tharu nameplate in the local market tomorrow.
While the company under the Ayala-led AC Motors has yet to share the full details about the upcoming crossover, here are some chunks of information on what customers expect from the vehicle.
The arriving sport utility vehicle, which will compete against the likes of the Subaru Crosstrek, Toyota Corolla Cross, MG HS, and Changan CS55 Plus, is expected to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline mill as one of the photos that AC Motors shared displayed a 300 TSi badge.
Known as Taos abroad, the Volkswagen Tharu will probably have matrix LED headlights with adaptive front lighting system, panoramic sunroof, virtual pedal tailgate, and intelligent park assist.
Further, the yet-to-be-unveiled model shall be offered in two variants: SE and SEL — with the former wearing a sticker price of P1.8 million and the latter, P1.95 million.
Having an uncanny resemblance to its smaller brethren that is the T-Cross, the Volkswagen Tharu will be offered in four body colors options namely the Pure White, Mangan Grey, Petroleum Blue, and Polytech Blue.
Customers who want to see the vehicle in the metal, may go to Karrera Cafe in Alabang, Muntinlupa City this weekend. However, those who want to get more information shortly after the official launch may check out Carmudi Philippines website and social media pages.
