KEY TAKEAWAYS
Where can the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo be found?
The Porsche Experience Center Tokyo is at Kisarazu, which is one-hour away from downtown Tokyo. How big is the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo?
The facility spans 43 hectares.Located within Kisarazu in the greater Tokyo area, the facility — which executives of Porsche Philippines together with vehicle owners have recently visited — is an hour drive from downtown Tokyo. The 43-hectare establishment is considered a hub that offers various driving programs that are devised to ensure that guests have better appreciation and understanding of the world of Porsche.
The PEC Tokyo is the ninth of its kind around the globe — following those in Leipzig, Silverstone, Atlanta, Le Mans, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hockenheimring, and Franciacorta.
Inaugurated in 2021, PEC Tokyo features a showroom that displays classic and contemporary Porsche sports cars, a lounge and café that dishes out culinary delights and a selection of Porsche merchandise, as well as a workshop and museum that showcase classic Porsche models.
Further, PEC Tokyo also boasts driving simulators that feature famous Porsche cars on familiar racetracks around the world, and meeting and conference spaces.
Those who joined the recent event at PEC Tokyo were able to enjoy the various driving programs that were conducted in numerous venues — including a 2.1-kilometer handling track that recreated famous corners such as the Nurburgring’s “Carousel” and Laguna Seca’s “Corkscrew.”
Aside from that, guests also drove at the low-friction track, a tough off-road course, and the “Dynamic Area” where special programs like slalom driving, full braking, and launch control exercises are held. It also has some concrete “drift circle” too.
The courses provide visitors a chance to experience first-hand the exhilaration afforded by high-performance Porsche sports cars — 911, 718 Cayman and Boxster, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and even the 100-percent electric Taycan.
All driving exercises were supervised by professional Porsche driving instructors to ensure the safety and maximum learning fun of participants.
Moreover, the PEC Tokyo track follows the venue’s natural landscape, which will help visitors appreciate the beauty of Kisarazu while having a unique driving experience. Complementing the overall design is the cut-glass design motif of PEC Tokyo’s main building that is modeled after traditional Japanese craft. Its interior is decorated with elements that evokes a Japanese garden.
