The Mini Convertible Seaside Edition has landed in the Philippines not too long ago.
The local wing of the British automotive brand staged its arrival with much fanfare, showcasing the unique features of the limited top-down model.
On that note, we’re going to take a quick look at some of the notable appointments one can find in the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition.
One of the most striking features of the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition is its youthful design.
Exterior-wise, it wears typical Mini appointments but is bedecked with model-specific features like the white-on-blue theme flaunted by the car on display at the aforementioned event.
At the fore are white elements found on the cabriolet’s headlight housing. Its Mini badge is also in white. A unique “seaside edition” easter egg can also be seen on the vehicle’s front fascia.
The side profile of the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition also dons white pinstripes that merge well with its white door handles and white gas tank cap.
Finally, the rear end of the cute convertible comes with white trims on the tailgate garnish and white accents on its taillamp housing.
Inside, the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition also offers several exclusive design elements in the form of the pink “seaside” badge on the steering wheel as well as Union Jack logos on the side of the front seats.
Further, its dashboard is swathed in unique patterns, which can also be found on its floor mats in the form of a graphic badge.
The Mini Convertible Seaside Edition is a two-door drop-top car that’s relatively small. But despite its size, this exclusive model packs enough power to give its owners a spirited driving experience.
Under its hood is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with Mini TwinPower Turbo Technology. The powerplant is mated to a seven-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with a double clutch.
According to Mini Philippines, its power figures allow it to reach a maximum power output of 178 horses and generate as much as 280 Newton-meters of torque. Acceleration from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) can be achieved in 7.1 seconds while speed peaks at 230kph.
Mini Philippines added that the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition’s fuel consumption is at 7.1 kilometers per liter.
Other sporty appointments include its functional air intakes and brake vents, its bucket-type seats, and its two-tone wheels with unique Seaside Edition wheel caps.
Owners of the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition will not only have style and decent power to boast but also an array of unique in-car technologies.
Past its multi-functional steering wheel is an instrument cluster in an oval housing, complementing the funky instrument screen is a similarly groovy infotainment system in a circular display panel.
The abovementioned infotainment system is Apple CarPlay-ready.
Other notable features include driver-assist technologies like its collision warning and pedestrian warning systems with city braking function, lane departure warning, cruise control with braking function, and park distance control.
The Mini Convertible Seaside Edition is one unique ride. In fact, it’s so unique that only 10 units of the said model were allocated to the Philippine market, two of which have already been sold to their respective owners.
Those looking to cop what would eventually be a piece of automotive history will be set back by P3.720 million.
