The next-generation Territory continues to push the envelope in the local compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment.
In a statement, the Blue Oval brand's local arm cited six features of the second-generation Territory, which sets a new pace in the highly-contested category.
The next-generation Ford Territory is equipped with the brand’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The setup, per Ford Philippines, makes as much as 157 horsepower and 248 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Side by side with the older generation Ford Territory, an improvement of 10 percent in overall performance was reached (reflecting an increase of 16 horsepower and 23 Nm of pulling power).
Despite the enhancements, the next-generation Ford Territory still boasts good fuel economy with the help of its new auto start-stop technology. Reportedly, the vehicle clocks in at around 7.4-8.5 kilometers per liter.
Accompanying the more powerful but fuel-efficient powertrain setup are new selectable drive modes, namely Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain.
The aforementioned driving modes not only prompt the next-generation Ford Territory to adjust its performance depending on the landscape drivers need to conquer, but also provide owners confidence and assures enhanced experience amid the variety of terrains.
Per Ford, the four drive modes are complemented by the seven-speed automatic gearbox with a rotary e-shifter.
Another compelling reason to drive home a next-generation Ford Territory is its overall appearance.
Thanks to its new honeycomb grille that is flanked by a pair of full LED headlights and signature daytime running lamps, the next-generation Ford Territory looks more modern.
Further, the SUV grew by 10 millimeters in terms of wheelbase and ground clearance, which contributes to its meaner, more aggressive demeanor.
Together, its aggressive-looking design allows the driver to stand out on the road while providing good visibility and capability to take on varying road conditions.
Ensuring that its occupants are kept comfortable in both short and long drives, the next-generation Ford Territory gets new interior upgrades. These include access to a wireless charger, a 12-inch colored touchscreen infotainment system, and a dual-zone electronic air conditioner with physical controls.
The latter will continuously check the air quality in the cabin and maintain it at a healthy level for passengers, thanks to its Air Anion Generator with PM2.5 monitoring.
The next-generation Ford Territory also boasts enhanced safety features for its occupants' peace of mind.
On top of the standard safety amenities like seatbelts and airbags, the next-generation Ford Territory also comes with new driver-assist features and technologies such as the blind spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert and door open alarm as well as hill descent control and enhanced active park assist.
Moreover, Filipino car shoppers looking to drive home the range-topping option can benefit from enhanced features like adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, auto high beam, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and a collision mitigation system.
Ford Philippines is backing up its next-generation Ford Territory with a five-year warranty or up to 150,000 kilometers — whichever comes first — to ensure that all owners will have a worry-free experience.
