Nissan has given the Almera an update recently, allowing its entry to the country’s compact car segment to offer new features to the brand’s customers.
The update brought significant changes to the automobile, making it a more appealing option for those looking to upgrade their rides.
On that note, here are some notable changes between the old and the new Nissan Almera.
Outside, the new Nissan Almera dons a more modern front fascia thanks to its redesigned V-motion grille. Gone is the car’s honeycomb appointment and is replaced with horizontal lines that give it a more refined and elegant look.
Similarly, the Nissan Almera was also given new front fog lamp housings to further enhance its sophisticated looks.
To its side, the Nissan Almera is endowed with new 16-inch wheels. Meanwhile, its rear end gets a new diffuser.
Other than that, the new Nissan Almera looks somewhat identical to the outgoing version with sleek headlights, a similarly stylish pair of side mirrors with repeaters and cameras, body-colored door handles, and a pair of taillamps that are reflective of the design of the lights at its fore.
The new Nissan Almera does sport similar interior details compared to the nameplate’s outgoing model with the exception of the black and blue trims in the cabin.
Still found inside the sedan is a multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel, an instrument cluster with a combination of analog and digital meters, and an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Powering the new Nissan Almera is a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline mill mated to either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. It is still the same powerplant and transmission setup from the pre-facelift model.
Power figures also stay the same at 99 horsepower and 152 Newton-meters of torque.
This is where the new Nissan Almera shines.
The latest iteration of Nissan’s sedan packs standard safety features such as a suite of airbags and seatbelts, an anti-lock braking system, vehicle dynamic control, a high-mount stop lamp, and cruise control.
The range-topping variant gets more with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which adds a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and hill start assist, among others.
Further bolstering its safety features is the NissanConnect Services, which comes with automatic collision notification, an SOS emergency call button, remote engine start and stop, remote lock and unlock, as well as speed alert and zone alert.
The old Nissan Almera, on the other hand, lacks the NissanConnect Services but still offer decent safety amenities.
The changes featured by the new Nissan Almera might not be as substantial when you consider its cosmetic updates but many believe that the addition of the NissanConnect Services makes it a more modern ride befitting today’s modern families.
The Nissan Almera is priced from P839,000 to P1.149 million.
