Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) staged the second leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Vios Cup at the Clark International Speedway last September 9, 2023.
On that note, the longest-running premier one-make-race series by TMP allowed fans to enjoy an unforgettable weekend as they watched and cheered for their bets in the race’s Circuit Championship and Autocross Challenge categories.
The aforementioned Circuit Championship was made up of three Classes: Promotional, Sporting, and Super Sporting.
Podium finishers in the Circuit Championship Promotional Class were Jarond Mesina of Toyota Team Cebu (first place), Alain Alzona of Toyota General Santos – Chooks to Go Racing Team (second place), and Bong Garbes of Inbox – Toyota San Fernando (third place).
Sporting Class winners were Jiro Garbes of Inbox – Toyota San Fernando (first place), Russel Cabrera of Toyota Team Cebu (second place), and Maila Alivia of JBT Racing Team / Toyota Isabela (third place).
Further, the Super Sporting in the Circuit Championship was dominated by Joaquin Garrido of Obengers Racing Team (first place), Bryan Co of R Racing Team (second place), and Red Diwa of JBT Racing Team / Toyota Isabela (third place).
Meanwhile, the said Autocross Challenge had four Classes, which are Promotional Media, Sporting Media, Sporting Influencer, and Sporting.
For its Promotional Media Class, TMP had an all-female podium lineup with Lyka Tan (first place) and Pattice Tenorio (second place) — who represented Carmudi and Zigwheels, respectively — and Mica Delos Reyes of Philippine Star (third place).
In the Sporting Media Class, the winners were Wowie Go (first place), Ronald Delos Reyes (second place), and John Rey San Diego (third place).
On the other hand, the Sporting Influencer Class of the Autocross Challenge saw winners Ezra Domingo (first place), Bianca Yao (second place), and Genesis Redido (third place).
The Sporting Class saw Reph Bangsil (first place), Migy Romulo (second place), and Lexi Mendiola (third place) climb up the podium.
A special challenge aboard the Corolla Altis GR-S HEV was also featured in the event, to which Milo Rivera was hailed as champion.
Also seen in Clark were TGR Vios Cup veterans, Troy Montero, Enzo Pineda, Carla Lizardo, and Megan Young.
On display at the motorsport spectacle were Toyota automobiles such as the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and GR 86. Also in attendance were the Tamaraw and new Hilux GR-S.
The said event was organized with the support of sponsors Bridgestone, Petron, Denso, 3M, AVT, ROTA, OMP, Tuason Racing, myToyota Wallet, and Kinto One.
The last and final leg of the TGR Vios Cup will take place on November 11, 2023.
