The newly-revealed Hyundai Stargazer has really veered away from its competitors in the local multi-purpose vehicle segment.
For starters, the vehicle’s look is very different from its rivals like the Toyota Avanza and Veloz, Nissan Livina, and the Mitsubishi Xpander, to name a few, so the Stargazer would really catch attention on the road.
Aside from that, the starting price of the new Hyundai Stargazer is a tad lower compared to aforementioned nameplates, joining the likes of the Suzuki Ertiga in the below-P1-million-category.
With other commodities in the country getting more expensive, seeing a vehicle that is competitively-priced is really a welcome development for car buyers. That said, an executive of the Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) explained the rationale behind the P998,000 introductory price.
“We want to provide customers with a vehicle that provides style, comfort, functionality and safety that is within their budget preference,” HMPH Deputy General Manager for Marketing Mark Parulan told Carmudi Philippines.
The Hyundai Stargazer’s entry-level offering GL comes with an Intelligent Variable Transmission, which means drivers need not to row a manual gearbox when they have to go from one place to the other. The IVT is matched to a 1.5-liter engine.
Further, the base trim of the newly-introduced MPV has a keyless entry system, fabric seats, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
However, the lowered pricing has an effect on what can be enjoyed with the vehicle.
To note, the Hyundai Stargazer GL only comes with a standard radio with mono LCD (instead of the eight-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity) as well as a 3.5-inch TFT instrument cluster (versus the mid-grade and top-tier’s 4.2-inch TFT LCD).
Moreover, the base trim option does not come with a wireless charger, charging ports at the rear, and most of the Hyundai Smartsense technology’s capabilities.
Relatedly, HMPH will have the new Hyundai Stargazer’s online launch at its official Facebook page at 7 p.m. tonight.
