The local arm of Japanese automaker Mazda has launched the latest version of its entry-model Mazda2 Hatchback in the country.
Part of the incoming year model Mazda Premium Collection that was recently launched, the 2022 Mazda2 is equipped with more occupant-centric features to further establish its standing of being an exceptional automotive brand.
“The Mazda2 remains to be the gateway to the Mazda brand… For 2022, it will become an even more complete representation of the brand with its new features and amenities. Owning a 2022 Mazda2 will truly offer the same familiar level of comfort, technology and safety as the rest of the Mazda lineup,” Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan said.
The 2022 Mazda2 Hatchback’s exterior features an array of upgrades such as the Platinum Quartz body color, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and black 16-inch alloy wheels.
However, it is inside the newly introduced variant that one will see more changes like the dark blue leather seats, the infotainment system that is Apple CarPlay-ready, a wireless charging pad (a feature that is usually seen on higher-specced sport utility vehicles), the Mazda Active Driving Display, and an analog tachometer in the centerline of the instrument cluster.
To ensure safety, the 2022 Mazda2 is fitted with six airbags (dual front, side and curtain-type) and i-Activsense safety features (Front and Rear Smart City Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert and Driver Attention Alert).
Available only on the 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine trim, the Mazda2 Hatchback wears a P1.195 million-price tag. The pricing also covers the standard Mazda Philippines five-years free service plan.
