Hidilyn Diaz continues to receive her well-deserved rewards. This time, the Filipino Olympic gold medalist received a Skydrive Sport from Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH).
When SPH learned that Diaz loves to ride motorcycles through a report by motoring journalist Aris Ilagan, the company then asked Diaz what color of Skydrive Sport she'd like to receive.
Diaz's interest in riding started in her hometown, Zamboanga, where she apparently rode tiny two-wheelers to attend training and meet friends.
"We are one with the whole nation in celebrating Ms. Hidilyn Diaz' success at the recent summer Olympics in Tokyo," SPH General Manager for Sales and Marketing Jun Bulot said during the turnover of the scooter to Diaz.
"After learning that Ms. Hidilyn loves riding a motorcycle, we thought that it would be a good idea to give her a Skydrive Sport as our token of appreciation to her for giving honor and inspiration to the Filipinos," Bulot added.
During the turnover in Quezon City, Diaz took her matte blue Skydrive Sport for a quick test ride, and she found the scooter easy to ride. However, it will take a few more weeks before Diaz can ride her Suzuki scooter again, since it will be sent to her hometown.
Suzuki described the Skydrive as "a fun and easy to ride automatic motorcycle perfect for everyday commute, running errands, or just a relaxing getaway."
The scooter is powered by a 113cc fuel-injected engine, which produces 6.9hp and 8.5Nm of torque. Aside from matte blue, the Skydrive can also be finished in other colors such as green, pink, black, and matte black.
