Per HMPH, the network-wide competition (which started in 2018) promotes exceptional customer care in both Sales and Aftersales. “It not only reinforces the competencies of the brand’s frontliners, but also remind and enable them to embody the “Hyundai Dealer Key Behavior” of H.E.A.R.T., which stands for Host, Empathize, Anticipate, Respect, and Thank,” the company said.
To note, Hyundai had the largest number of entries last year — coming from 13,590 team members in 85 countries. Participating sales consultants and service advisors were assigned to conceptualize and submit role-play videos that addressed scenarios for a showroom test drive and complaint response, respectively.
After two rounds of evaluations — first from their respective regional headquarters followed by HMC as the final evaluator— a total of 60 emerged as winners. They were formally announced on December 13, last year.
“We are very proud to have two of our dealer partners be recognized for their efforts. At Hyundai Motor, we value the trust and loyalty of our customers. We strive to create strong relationships by showing them sincerity of heart on every phase of their ownership journey. And as we continue to mark the brand’s footprint in the Philippines, our trusted network of dealers will help us uphold this standard for customer care,” HMPH President Dongwook Lee said. HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete accompanied Lee in formally presenting medals to the aforementioned local winners last January 19 in Cebu City.
HMPH noted that the Chiongbian Group started its partnership with Hyundai in 2003, making it one of the brand’s pioneers locally. In 2016, it opened the doors of Hyundai Naga in Maharlika Highway, Del Rosario to serve Hyundai customers in Camarines Sur and nearby areas.
“Our Naga City dealership has always had a spirit of being competitive. And so, they didn’t let this once in a lifetime opportunity slip away especially considering that it is a global contest. CXC also actually brought about challenges toward ourselves as a group, to apply and translate newly learned skills to our daily operations. This was truly a memorable experience that will help us not only reassess our abilities but also guarantee our customers that the same standards are applied in our Alabang, Las Piñas, San Pablo and Davao dealerships,” Chiongbian Group chair William Chiongbian said.
Meanwhile, the Laus Group — a firm that also owns Hyundai’s Dagupan, La Union and Ilocos Norte — has been helping the marque expand its reach in Northern Luzon since 2005. Its Baliwag dealership — located in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan — was put up in 2008.
“We felt honored and happy when we received news that our very own Hyundai Baliwag received the highest award and bested other Hyundai dealerships in the region. Since day one, we have been working to maintain the culture of excellence and professionalism in our day-to-day dealings with our customers,” LGC Chairwoman, Lisset Laus-Velasco.
“The past two years have been tough. But through the help of Hyundai Motor Philippines, as well as our hardworking team, we were able to give back and meet the expectations of our customers. Rest assured that we will strive to improve even more the way we do business through a more dynamic and personalized approach. This win is not just for Hyundai Laus Group, but for the Philippines’ dealer network as well,” she added.
