Honda Cars PH extends support to Brigada Eskwela anew

Continuing its advocacy for the youth and community safety, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has thrown its support again to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Brigada Eskwela.

The Japanese automaker’s arm in the country recently turned over health and safety materials and equipment to Don Jose Integrated Highschool in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, in anticipation for the resumption of face-to-face classes.

The DepEd program — themed “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik Aral,” — is aimed to make sure that schools are safe and prepared for the reopening of in-person classes. 

Among the items that HCPI provided are essential health and safety supplies such as non-contact thermal scanners, cleaning tools, disinfectants, and other medical supplies to keep students and teachers safe against the risks posed by COVID-19.

HCPI noted that it has been a program partner since 2008, providing assistance to 18 schools near its office in Laguna by distributing Education TV packages, clinic, school, and dental supplies, wash and drinking facilities, locker cabinets, disaster preparedness kits, and computers, among others, to help improve the tools and learning environment for the students.

 “We congratulate the Brigada Eskwela partners and coordinators for your dedication through the years. This community is much like our home, and it is the members’ shared responsibility to protect the safety and well-being of the next generation. HCPI is always grateful for opportunities to help in activities such as this,” HCPI Executive Vice President Vicenta Balarbar said during the turnover ceremony.

Gracing the event were Don Jose Integrated Highschool Principal I Catherine Javier, Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Arlene Gaspard, , and Adopt-a-School Coordinator Patria Aclo.
