Following its preview at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show last September, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has officially introduced the all-new BR-V to the local market.
The unveiling followed the arrival of the seven-seater model’s initial batch of units announced last October.
The second-generation Honda BR-V boasts a very refined appearance and a commanding stance compared to its predecessor.
Growing bigger, wider, and longer, the vehicle is now 4,490 millimeters (mm) long, 1,780mm wide, and 1,685mm tall with a 207mm ground clearance. It also assures a roomier cabin as it has a 2,700mm wheelbase.
It has also improved in the aesthetics department as it is featured Honda’s new design language on its vehicles (with the fore and rear having a strong resemblance to the all-new Civic). The model sits on 17-inch wheels.
On the inside, the all-new Honda BR-V is fitted with either black leather or plush fabric to ensure comfort to all occupants. Apart from that, it is also equipped one-push start system (except for the base trim), and a seven-inch touch-screen audio that is Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatible with as much as six speakers.
As earlier mentioned, the all-new Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter double overhead cam i-VTEC engine with a maximum of 119 horsepower and 145Nm of torque. The mill is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a new continuously variable transmission (CVT). Amid the output, the model can do a 23.48-kilometer-per-liter consumption, based on the recent fuel economy run with the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).
The all-new BR-V has been awarded by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP) with a five-star rating. Honda received the honor thanks to the vehicle’s host of safety features such as Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, Dual and Side Airbags, Reverse Camera with Guidelines, Driver and Front Passenger Seat Belt Reminder, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist, Security Alarm, Immobilizer, Emergency Stop Signal and ISOFix Child Seat Anchor.
Further, the all-new Honda BR-V is said to be the sixth model under HCPI that comes with the Honda Sensing suite of technologies that include the following:
