Honda Cars PH plans to sell 1,400 HR-Vs in 2022

Honda Car Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is eyeing to sell 1,400 units of the all-new HR-V in the country by the end of 2022.

HCPI Sales Division Head Atty. Louie Soriano gave the sales target for the newly introduced offering, noting the number of competitors in the subcompact crossover segment.

Given HCPI’s goal, the all-new Honda HR-V needs to turn over around 120 examples to buyers per month.

HCPI mentioned earlier that the nameplate’s predecessor has delivered more than 7,000 units to customers since it was introduced locally in 2015. Globally, the HR-V already sold around 3.5 million units as of December last year.

Further, the company is expecting that the HR-V's local top-of-the-line variation will slightly sell more than the base trim (S CVT). The V Turbo CVT will likely corner 55 percent of the all-new Honda HR-V’s overall sales come yearend, Soriano shared.

Meanwhile, HCPI Product Planning Manager Maiko Viar said that the market of the all-new Honda HR-V are those in the mid-30s to 40s who are "very stylish and outgoing."

Further, the all-new HR-V is offered in two 1.5-liter gasoline engine options: turbo and the non-turbo kind. Both are matched to a continuously variable transmission.

The vehicle features Honda Sensing suite of safety features as standard such as collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist system, road departure mitigation system with lane departure warning, auto high-beam, as well as lead car departure notification system.

The pricing for the all-new HR-V starts at P1.25 million for the S CVT while the V Turbo CVT is pegged at P1.598 million and is available in the following hues:

• Ignite Red Metallic
• Platinum White Pearl
• Premium Opal White Silver Pearl (new color; exclusive for V Turbo CVT)
• Meteoroid Gray Metallic

Recently, the 2022 Honda HR-V received a four-star rating based on the latest assessment issued by the European New Car Assessment Program (EuroNCAP).
