Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has just updated its compact SUV offering in the country, the CR-V.
The latest iteration of the New Honda CR-V has now graced the country’s roads together with All-New City, after being revealed via the local distributor’s social media pages. Such reveal was made in time for the company’s celebration of its 30th anniversary.
The New CR-V is still powered by the reliable engine options such as the 1.6-liter DOHC i-DTEC Turbo Diesel engine paired to nine-speed Automatic Transmission (which can deliver 118 horsepower and 300Nm torque), or the 2.0-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine matched to a Continuously Variable Transmission (that is able to provide around 152 horsepower 189Nm).
Also, the CR-V has Eco Assist System such as ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light to encourage fuel-efficient driving.
The updated CR-V has a redesigned exterior accentuated by the latest bumper design, new chrome grille wing, chrome bumper accents. This complemented the LED Headlights alongside LED Fog lights that comes as standard on all variants and the top-grade SX Diesel 9AT AWD has front sequential turn signal.
The new CR-V sports sits on 18” alloy wheels for the SX Diesel 9AT AWD, S Diesel 9AT, and 2.0S CVT variants with new roof rails fitted across all variants.
For convenience, the S Diesel 9AT variant has been fitted equipped with a Power Tailgate and the SX Diesel 9AT AWD features a new Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate, which can open the rear door by just doing a kicking motion underneath the rear bumper.
Panoramic Sunroof and Auto Rain Sensing Wipers are also made exclusive for the SX Diesel 9AT AWD variant.
Its interiors are designed to accommodate seven passengers (five for the gasoline variant). The CR-V SX Diesel 9AT AWD has an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat with four-way power lumbar support while 4-way power-adjustable seat is available for the front passenger.
While USB ports are located at the center console, the SX Diesel 9AT AWD now has a wireless mobile charger for added convenience.
For its entertainment features, the new CR-V SX Diesel 9AT AWD, S Diesel 9AT, and 2.0 S CVT variants are equipped with a seven-inch Touchscreen Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, the SX Diesel 9AT AWD and S Diesel 9AT variants pack a Navigation feature and additional controls for its automatic air conditioning system.
Further, the seven-seater options have additional air-conditioning vents with independent controls.
Hauling huge amounts of cargo can be accommodated as it can adjust to take up to 967 liters of space when the middle and third row are tumbled.
Safety and Honda SENSING
The New CR-V is now equipped with Honda’s SENSING functions such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), and the Auto High Beam.
This is on top of the dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal, and Multi-View Reverse Camera w/ Guidelines, which all comes as standard.
The SX Diesel 9AT AWD, S Diesel 9AT, and 2.0S CVT variants comes standard with additional safety features including LaneWatch, side airbags and side curtain airbags. All these myriad of safety features gave the new CR-V the five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
